This presentation explores the nature of social media and how it has created new legal concerns and challenges, particularly with regard to the First Amendment of The Constitution of the United States. Topics discussed include defining social media; legislation affecting social media; the public policy behind the First Amendment; and a discussion of cases in recent years that have involved the interplay of social media and the First Amendment has been applied to social media cases. The presentation will conclude with a question and answer session.
